A "hard loft" is a
conversion of a vintage factory or
warehouse, having a harder edge or either
concrete construction, or "mill"
Construction of exposed brick and original
wood post, beams and floors.
Many of these
lofts can be found in or around
Downtown Dallas in Fair Park, and Deep
Ellum.
It is the height
that helps give a loft the feeling of air
and space. Ceilings are unfinished and pipes
and heating ducts are exposed. It will
likely have a kitchen and a bathroom with
the rest of the space left as one large open
room, which you can divide and be used
according to you own needs.
Another style is one in which there is a
second mezzanine level overlooking the floor
below. Another type of loft are the
renovated modern lofts in Dallas' older
neighborhoods, just east of Downtown in some
of the Historic areas or old downtown
department stores, like The Wilson Building
or The Kirby, or "soft lofts" which are
newly constructed lofts in areas like uptown
Dallas, Plano, Addison and Las Colinas. So
many choices depending upon your lifestyle.
